  • How do Eyelash Extensions work?
Eyelash extensions are a luxury hand crafted art, whereby thin, lightweight fibers are attached to each and every individual natural eyelash to enhance your natural beauty. At Lytham Lash Company, we believe that lash extensions should simply enhance your features & certainly not overpower them, even with our Russian Volume style, each set is tailored to meet your preference. Your natural lashes are on a continuous growth cycle. They individually each grow to a certain length & then shed. Each hair is on its own cycle so we are never left without any lashes at any one time. Eyelash extensions are attachedto each & every hair. When this hair naturally sheds, so does the extension. When following the proper aftercare, the extensions will not shed prematurely. Infills are required every 2-3 weeks to ensure your lashes look complete at all times. During an infill appointment, we remove the extensions that have grown down the natural lash & attach to all the new hairs once the old lashes have shed.
  • What is the aftercare advice for Lash Treatments?
To ensure your eyelash extensions last their full lifespan, you must: Clean your lashes with the Lytham Lash Company Signature cleanser daily. We attach each extension 0.5-1mm away from your eyelid, leaving a tiny gap that, if failed to clean, can build up withdirt, dust, dead skill cells, make up & sebum. Build up not only leads to premature shedding but can also lead to infections, Please use a lash extension specific cleanser when cleaning your extensions, using an oil based cleanser will cause the extension adhesive to breakdown. Avoid getting your eyelashes wet for the first 24 hours. This is to allow the adhesive to fully cure and bond to the natural lash. Avoid oily products. When oils come into contact with the adhesive the bond start to break down, causing premature shedding of the extensions. Oily products include mascara, eyeliners, foundation, moisturisers, etc. Avoid picking, pulling or playing with your extensions. The extensions are adhered to your natural lashes in a way that will not come off unless the natural lash it has beenattached to is ready to shed & recycle. Picking your extensions may result in damage to your natural lashes. Avoid moisture & heat. Excessive heat, saunas & steam rooms can cause premature shedding. This is due to high heats softening the adhesive.
  • How long do extensions last?
Eyelash Extensions are attached to each of your natural lashes which are on a constant growth cycle. You naturally shed 3-5 natural lashes a day, of which the extensions will shed with. Infills are recommend every 2-3 weeks.
  • What are infills and when do I need them?
At your infill appointment, we replace all lashes that have shed and remove all extensions that have grown down the natural lash as a result of the natural growth cycle, and replace these with fresh extensions back toward the root of your lash.
  • How long does a lash lift last?
Lash Lift results last 6-8 weeks.
  • Can I wear make up with extensions?
You can wear make up with extensions, however, the oils in the make up will affect the retention. Oils break down the bonds in the extension adhesive, causing the extensions to shed prematurely. Mascara cannot be worn with extensions, this causes the extensions to clump together and can cause irritation.
  • What's the difference between Classic, Hybrid & Russian?
We offer 3 different types of extensions. Classic - This is where we attach only 1 extension to each natural lash. Classics add length and curl to create a natural look. This type can only be as full as your natural lashes are. Hybrid - A 50% combination of Classic & Russian Volume fans. Moderate fullness with a more textured look. Russian Volume - Our most voluminous extensions. Applied with a more advanced technique where lightweight fans of 3-6 extensions are attached per lash to create fuller coverage. All types of extensions can be tailored to you and your preference in terms of the length & curl.
  • I've lost a few lashes and its only been a couple of days. What can I do?
We offer a free fix within 3 days of your last appointment as long as there are no signs that any make up or oils have been applied to or near them.
  • Do I need a patch test?
Yes, a patch test is required for all treatments at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.
  • Do I need Reshape & Design or a Wax & Tint?
If a period of 12 weeks or more has surpassed since your last brow treatment, a reshape and design will be required to rediscover your natural shape.
  • What is the aftercare advice for Brow Treatments?
Your brow results can last from 4-8 weeks, depending on which treatment you receive & how well you follow your aftercare. Brows are pretty low maintenance but the right aftercare will ensure to prolong your results & help protect the hairs and surrounding skin. For optimum results, you must avoid: Moisture & Heat Keep the brow area dry for 48 hours post treatment. Avoid touching/rubbingthe treated area immediately after. Avoid excess heat. This includes steam & saunas, tanning and direct sunlight as this could undo the effect of yourtreatment. The skin can be left sensitive after hair removal, leaving it more prone to sun damage and burns. Make Up & Products Keep your new brows free from brow make-up, self-tan or products for 48 hours post treatment to allow your brows to settle. Applying make up, including foundation or concealers, to the skin around the brow could clog your open follicles, leading to bumps or spots. Avoid using exfoliators (such as scrubs & glycolic acid) or anti-aging skincare (such as retinols) for three days either side of your Brow treatments to reduce any skin sensitivity. When using your face washes or creams, use around the brow area and up to the brow line but avoiding the brow hair & area for a week.
  • How do I keep my brows nourished?
Use your brow balm or oils daily. These should be combed through the brows using a disposable spoolie. Comb your brows in the direction of the hair growth to maintain your brow shape.
  • How long will my brows last?
Eyebrow tint lasts around 4 weeks, the colour will gradually fade over this period of time. This period may alter depending on your hair type and skincare regime. Brow Lamination lasts around 4-8 weeks. This is due to the natural growth cycle of our brow hairs. This timescale may alter dependent upon your aftercare.
